New frame structure = offers greater flexibility

When installing a door frame, a few millimetres difference in the wall opening can quickly result in a lot of extra work. This is why door manufacturer Westag has developed a new frame solution with proven stability that also provides extra installation space.

Westag has optimised the rebate geometry in its new frame solution. The rebate width has been increased from 11 to 13 mm in order to increase the installation gap to 4 mm. A further advantage is that the rubber seal covers a greater surface on the door, offering a better seal and reducing the passage of light and air. The sturdy, 25 mm thick jamb plate remains unchanged and continues to ensure the high load-bearing capacity and rigidity of the frame.

For made-to-order custom frames, Westag incorporates a newly developed integrated screw-on hinge pocket, which increases the installation gap thanks to its bevelled shape. Due to their greater strength, these frames are suitable for doors weighing up to 100 kg. For standard products, the company continues to rely on the traditional hinge pocket, but combines this with the optimised frame design.
