Westag humid area doors are designed to withstand short-term water exposure during daily cleaning or occasional moisture build-up (e.g. bathing/showering in private buildings).
Humid area doors are functional doors with waterproof properties. Their use is recommended in rooms where moisture forms temporaily. They are resistant to splashing water, condensation and occasional higher humidity, but are not suitable for direct and prolonged exposure to water. In residential settings, their installation is recommended primarily in bathrooms without ventilation or windows, but their use is particularly recommended in hotels, health facilities, and community washrooms, i.e. in places where wet cleaning is carried out daily.
The design of humid area doors effectively prevents water damage to their surface, edges, inner core and fittings. The core may consist of solid or hollow chipboard, while the surface is typically made of CPL or HPL laminate. To protect against moisture, the lower edge must be sealed to prevent water penetration, which could otherwise lead to swelling or deformation of the door structure.
